The Mini Boom-Pole was developed due to a request from the UK's largest broadcaster. The engineers there asked for a shorter version of Rode?s standard pole which would be lighter. In many applications such as news gathering, there is no need for a long mic pole, and by removing sections; the Mini is considerably lighter and so easier to use over long periods. As they say in the classics, it's not the length of your pole that matters, it's what you do with it that counts!

The model KA-113 offers four telescoping sections before the hinge and two after. Total reach is nine and a half feet. Construction is from high density graphite fiber.
Five positive locking hinge positions provide for 90, 112, 135, 157, and 180 degrees of pivot.
The operator can tuck the mushroom base of the pole into the belt-line in order to comfortably support the pole with one hand while mixing with the other.
The pole can be inverted to go down and under to position the mic below frame.
The hinge also allows the pole to fold for storage & transit. Minimum length of this 6-section telescoping and folding pole is only 2'4". Max length (pole completely straight) is 9'5".
